You made it this far in your discovery of pallet gardening, so… six points! The points don’t really mean anything, but it’s the thought that counts. So how about six facts about the lovely pallet gardens being made in your neighborhood Horticulture Department.

- The garden can be raised (using cinder blocks, sawhorses, or a safe homemade stand), which will prevent bending and sore backs.
- The garden can be moved, allowing you to easily adjust for your herbs light needs or spacing on your property. They don’t tan, but they still need the sun.
- The bottom is lined with landscaping fabric, allowing your plants to breathe and be happy. At least as much as plants can be. That, my friend, is a hypothetical question we just can’t answer.
- The boards across the top act as natural weed barriers, so no more pulling out those unwanted, mooching plants, only to see them again the next day!
- The OSB boards on the bottom of the pallet are drilled for easy drainage. Nobody likes soggy feet, not even plants… but with roots. If your plants have feet we have made a grave mistake.
- And probably one of the best things about this, it’s all recyclable materials and environmentally friendly! ...Who are we kidding? Not having to weed is the best part. But it’s always a good bonus to shrink your carbon footprint.
